Muslim Prayer Beads (Tasbih) – Islamic Misbaha for Dhikr and Remembrance of Allah

Muslim prayer beads, also known as Tasbih, Misbaha, or Islamic prayer beads, are used by Muslims around the world to perform Dhikr (remembrance of Allah). These beautiful bead strings help believers keep count while reciting phrases that glorify Allah.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"People will not sit in a gathering remembering Allah without the angels surrounding them, mercy covering them, and Allah mentioning them among those who are with Him." (Sahih Muslim)

Using a Tasbih allows Muslims to focus on their spiritual remembrance while counting recitations such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar. Most prayer beads contain 33 or 99 beads, representing the glorification of Allah and His beautiful names.

At our store, we offer a wide variety of Muslim Tasbih prayer beads to match different preferences. Whether you prefer wooden Tasbih, glass beads, gemstone beads, or lightweight acrylic beads, you can find a style that suits your personal taste and spiritual practice.

How to Use Muslim Prayer Beads (Tasbih)

The main purpose of using a Misbaha or Tasbih is to assist in the remembrance of Allah. The most common Dhikr performed using prayer beads is the Tasbih of Fatima.

This Dhikr was taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Ali and Fatima when they requested help with their household work. Instead of providing a servant, the Prophet taught them a powerful remembrance:

  • SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah) – 33 times
  • Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) – 33 times
  • Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) – 34 times

This makes a total of 100 recitations and is commonly recited before sleeping or after daily prayers.

To use the Tasbih beads, simply move one bead at a time using your thumb and finger. Each bead represents one Dhikr recitation. When using a 33 bead Tasbih, the string is repeated three times to reach 99 recitations. A 99 bead Tasbih allows the full Dhikr cycle in a single round.

Many Tasbih designs also include marker beads that separate sections, making it easier to track different Dhikr phrases.
